Upcoming events for Winter 2010
Kids, ages 6-12, can join us for the following FREE events during the upcoming March Break, March 16-20. Pre-registration is required for our cyber-camps through the Community Access Program. (at our Angus Branch only) Tuesday, March 16: 2 - 4 p.m. Computer on-line games and Library Board Games Wednesday, March 17: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. St. Patrick's Day Cyber-Camp & Crafts Thursday, March 18: 2 - 4 p.m. Computer on-line games and Library Board Games Friday, March 19: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Make your own book & bookmark on the computer! Saturday, March 20: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Easter Cyber-Camp & Crafts For the younger set, please note that our Storytime sessions will be held at their regularly scheduled dates & times! Through Industry Canada, we are pleased to offer the Community Access Program, featuring FREE one-on-one computer & Internet training. Our Angus Branch CAP Youth Intern, Cassandra is happy to assist you until March 31, 2010. *NEW* Storytime Fun is offered at our "Bedtime Tales", featuring stories, songs, finger play & fun for ages up to 6 years old! We have a some great fundraising products to help the Essa Public Library Branches. We have new canvas bookbags with our new Library logo and featuring the slogan/graphic, "It takes a library to raise a community" for only $10.00 each. Monies raised from the sales of products will be directed to the Branch in which they are sold. At the Angus Branch, fundraising will go towards a new Angus Branch facility. In the Thornton Branch, fundraising money will be for facility enhancement. For more details, ask Library Staff at either Branch. **NEW** Help us "dip" into extra funds! We are featuring the Epicure Selections delicious Sweet or Savoury Triple Dip sets, a healthy, easy unique product. Take home these tasty treats (3 complete jars in a gift bag) for only $21.00. Now available at the Essa Public Library branches in Angus & Thornton. Ask for a catalogue or check out their website at www.epicureselections.com.
The Simcoe County Good Food Box program operated by community organizations and volunteers is back! Anyone who enjoys high quality fruits and vegetables can purchase a small box @ $10.00 or a large box @ $15.00. Cash payment must be received at time of placing your order and must be received no later than the 5th. day of each month. You can place your order at the Angus Branch of the Essa Public Library. All orders must be picked up on the 3rd. Thursday of each month and participants are advised to please bring their own bags or boxes to pick up your Good Food Box contents. The content of the boxes varies by what is in season and reasonably priced. Please note that orders not picked up, by 5 p.m. on pick-up day, are donated to people in need in the community. Orders can be picked up at the Pinewoods Gospel Chapel on 52 Brian Avenue, Angus, between 1:30 - 5 p.m. For more information, you are welcome to contact the Essa Public Library @ 424-6531 or contact the Krasman Centre @ 435-0054.
2010 Township of Essa dog tags are still on sale at both Library Branches in Angus & Thornton. NOTE: Library branches sell one-year tags only, at a cost of $20.00. These dog tags expire December 31, 2010. Two-year tags are only available through the Township of Essa. Please contact 424-9770 for more information on licensing your dog for two years. YOU MUST BRING PROOF OF VALID RABIES VACCINATION FOR YOUR DOG BEFORE WE CAN ISSUE A 2010 TAG!
Both Library branches in Angus & Thornton also sell the County of Simcoe's garbage bag tag sheets. One sheet of five tags is only $10.00. With the new organic waste pickup now in effect, Township of Essa residents are allowed one garbage bag per pickup, so we are pleased to be an outlet for you to purchase tags, should you need them.
If you would like to be a volunteer of the Library, we have opportunities for you to deliver and pickup library materials to homebound patrons. Also, if you are homebound and would like to have home delivery, please contact us at 424-6531 (Angus Branch) or 458-2549 (Thornton Branch)-Shaun Fox will be happy to discuss your needs and coordinate your homebound service.
