As released to the public at the sod-turning event on September 28, 2009, the Essa Public Library, Angus Branch will be part of the new Essa Public secondary school, slated for opening in September 2011.  The student-focused, joint-use facility design by Snyder & Associates Architects features:

- Public secondary school, public library and OPP community policing office
- Multi-purpose cafetorium
- Three-storey atrium
- Double gymnasium
- General and specialty classrooms
- Technology areas
- Student facilities
- Sustainable and environmentally-friendly features
